The Vital Spirit of Kenna Emmons, Companion Piece

Today I reposted an article telling the story of my cousin Kenna’s battle with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency.  During my senior year in Montana State University’s Film and Photography major, I wrote and directed a fantasy film based loosely on her story, “Fever Dream Hero Taiyomusha.” The film is a tribute to Japanese tokusatsu film and television, about a terminally ill girl who imagines herself as a superhero battling dark forces as she battles the complications of her disease in real life. I wanted to share it along with the article, but felt it should be in a separate post.
